situations that we would not be normally exposed to. I selected this artifact because it is the first volunteer work I got involved in in high school since I started to do it freshman year and completed it all through senior year. As a composer I think this artifact connects with my academic artifact because it shows my love for helping others and that I am very empathetic in all situations and always try to make the best of what others have. In my opinion, it is really fulfilling to help others which is why I choose to do it so often. It shows that my composing process comes from helping others and is not about scholarly activities like a resume, but it is more about who you are as a person. I value people’s personalities and actions way more than their grades or what college they attend and what profession they have.

This is my professional artifact from when I was one of the co-chairs for the Woodland Acres food drive held at my school. This picture was taken at the school we volunteered at when all the items were collected from our school. Me and other volunteers took a bus to the Woodland Acres Elementary School right before Thanksgiving to organize meals for the kids and their families. Since many of the kids who attend that school are on food stamps every year my school holds this drive around Thanksgiving to ensure they have food available. We put all the food in bags to make meals and then are allowed to go play with the kids in their classes or go out to recess with them or help their teachers if they need it. It’s a lot of fun and every year it opens all of our eyes to
